PC RESOLUTION NO. 94-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR
THE CITY OF TEMECULA RECOMMENDING ADOPTION
OF AN ORDINANCE WHICH WOULD PROHIBIT
SKATEBOARDING, ROLLERBLADING AND SIMILAR
ACTIVITIES IN CERTAIN DESIGNATED AREAS OF THE
CITY
WHEREAS, skateboarding, rollerblading and similar activities have the potential to
cause personal injury to the general public; and
WHEREAS, skateboarding, rollerblading and similar activities pose a threat to public
and private property; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed Skateboard Ordinance is consistent with the General Plan;
and,
WHEREAS, that this Ordinance complies with all the applicable requirements of State
law and local ordinances; and,
WHEREAS, notice of the proposed Ordinance was posted at City Hall, County Library,
Rancho California Branch, the U.S. Post Office, Temecula Town Association and the Temecula
Valley Chamber of Commerce; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted on May 2, 1994, at which time interested
persons had an opportunity to testify either in support or in opposition.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TEMECULA DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Planning Commission for the City of Temecula finds that the
proposed Skateboard Ordinance will provide for a safe and secure community free from the
threat of personal injury and loss of property.
Section 2. That the Planning Commission for the City of Temecula further finds that
the proposed Skateboard Ordinance is consistent with the General Plan through the creation of
a safe and secure community free from the threat of personal injury and loss of property.
Section 3. That the Planning Commission for the City of Temecula further finds that
the proposed Skateboard Ordinance does not have the potential to cause a significant impact on
the environment and has determined that the project is exempt from the California Environmental
Quality Act, as amended, pursuant to Section 15061 (b)(3).

Section 4. That the Planning Commission for the City of Temecula hereby recommends
to the City Council that the Council adopt the proposed Skateboard Ordinance. This Ordinance
is incorporated into this Resolution by this reference.
Section 5. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADO this 2nd day of May, 1994.

Commission of the City of Temecula at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 2nd day of May,
