Birdsall presiding Pastor Gary Ruly, HIS Church Christian Center Councilmember Parks Lindemans, Moore, Mur~oz, Parks, Birdsall A total of 15 minutes is provided so members of the public can address the Council on items that are not listed on the Agenda or on the Consent Calendar. Speakers are limited to two (2) minutes each. If you desire to speak to the Council about an item not listed on the Agenda or on.the consent Calendar, a pink "Request To Speak" form should be filled out and filed with the City Clerk. When you are called to speak, please come forward and state your name and address. For all other agenda items a "Request To Speak" form must be filed with the City Clerk before the Council gets to that item. There is a five (5) minute time limit for individual speakers. COUNCIL BUSINESS 1 Adoorion of Resolution Declaring Election Results RECOMMENDATION 1.1 Adopt a resolution entitled: RESOLUTION NO. 92- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 1992, DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW 210 I 11/26/92 e Administration of Oaths of Office to Newly Elected Councilmembers City Clerk June Greek Remarks and Introductions bv Councilmembers CITY MANAGER REPORT CITY ATTORNEY REPORT CITY COUNCIL REPORTS ADJOURNMENT Next regular meeting: December 8, 1992, 7:00 PM, Temecula Community Center, 28816 Pujol Street, Temecula, California RECEPTION The public is cordially invited to participate in a reception to honor present and past City Councilmembers and .to celebrate the City of Temecula's third birthday. 21agendl/O6 1290 2 11/26/92 RESOLUTION NO. 9~ A RF.,~L~ON OF TRF~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA, ~G THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELF-CTIO N !tFJ',D ON NO VEMB ER 3, 1992, DECLARING TRg RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW' W!tFREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Temecula, California, on Tuesday, November, 3, 1992, as required by law; and ~, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Cede of the State of California; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 92- 40 adopted May 26, 1992, the County Election l)etmrtment canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the results to this City Council, the results are received, attached and .made a part hereof as *Exhibit A." NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCH.. OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA, DOES RESOLVE, DECL~., DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the whole number of ballots cast in the City, except absent voter ballots, was 9,633. · Section 2. That the names of persons voted for at the election for Member of the City Council are as follows: Jeffrey E. Stone Ron Roberrs Karel F. Lindemans J. Sal Mmioz W'filiam 'Bffi' E. Hepburn R. Jane Vernon That the measure voted upon at the election is as follows: Measure "Y" Appropriations Limit Section 3. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the city to each of the persons above named for the offices for which the persons were candidates and for and against. the measure were as listed in Exhibit "A" attached. Rssos285 1 Sectioa 4. The City Council does declare and determine that J. Sal Mufioz, Ron Roberts, and Jeffrey E. Stone were ~ as Members of the City Coun~l for the full term of four years. That as a result of the election, a majority of the vcrzrs voting on Measure 'Y" relating to the Appropriations Limit for the City of Temecula, did vote in favor of it, and that the measure was carried, and shall be deemed adopted and nil. fled. Section S. The City Cl~rk shall enter on the re~rds of the City CoUncil of the City, a statement of the result of the election, showing: (1) The whole number of ballots ~st in the City; (2) The names of the persons voted for; 0) The measure voted upon; (4) For what office each person was voted for; (5) The number of votes given at each pre~ct to each person, and for and against the measure; (6') The total number of votes given to each person, and for an against the measure. Section 6..That the City Cl~rk shall immediately make and deliver to each person so elected a Certificate of election signed by the City Clerk and authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each person ~ the Oath of Office presSbed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall have them subscTibe to it and file it in the offic~ of the City Clerk. Each and all of the persons so elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected. SeetiOn ~. The City Clerk shall. certify the adoption of this resolution.
