Once the speaker is called to speak, please come forward and state your name for the record. Each speaker is limited to three minutes. For Council Business items on the agenda, a Request to Speak form may be filed with the City Clerk prior to the City Council addressing that item. Each speaker is limited to five minutes. CITY COUNCIL BUSINESS 1 Conduct Mid -Year Budget Planning Workshop RECOMMENDATION: 1.1 That the City Council hold a Mid -Year Planning workshop to review and discuss staff recommendations regarding the appropriation of Measure S revenue for Fiscal Year 2016-17. ADJOURNMENT Next regular meeting: Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at 5:30 PM, for a Closed Session, with regular session commencing at 7:00 PM, City Council Chambers, 41000 Main Street, Temecula, California. NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC The agenda packet (including staff reports) will be available for public viewing in the Main Reception area at the Temecula Civic Center (41000 Main Street, Temecula) after 4:00 PM the Friday before the City Council meeting. At that time, the agenda packet may also be accessed on the City's website — www.temeculaca.gov — and will be available for public viewing at the respective meeting. If you have questions regarding any item on the agenda for this meeting, please contact the City Clerk's Department, (951) 694-6444. 1 CITY COUNCIL BUSINESS Approvals City Attorney Finance Director City Manager CITY OF TEMECULA AGENDA REPORT TO: City Council FROM: Aaron Adams, City Manager DATE: January 26, 2017 SUBJECT: Conduct Mid -Year Budget Planning Workshop PREPARED BY: Jennifer Hennessy, Finance Director RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council hold a Mid -Year Planning workshop to review and discuss staff recommendations regarding the appropriation of Measure S revenue for Fiscal Year 2016-17. BACKGROUND: Each fiscal year in January, the City conducts a comprehensive review of its Annual Operating Budget. Updates to revenue and operating line item budgets are requested to incorporate any known changes from the Adopted Budget. Due to the passage of Measure S on November 8, 2016, staff requests Council direction regarding the appropriation of the new revenue expected to be received this fiscal year, which is estimated to be $5.75 million. Council direction received from this workshop will be incorporated in the FY2016-17 Mid -Year Budget Update scheduled to be presented to the City Council at their February 28, 2017 meeting.
