OLD TOWN TEMECULA HISTORICAL PRESERVATION DISTRICT LOCAL REVIEW BOARD Regular Meeting RECEI VED MAY 10 199! cnv Of lfMj;C!.lL/I May 10, 1993 Members Present: Bob Morris, Larry Markham, and Bill Harker City Staff: Mathew Fagan The meeting was called to order at 9:15 a.m. by Mathew Fagan in the Board Room of the Community Center, 28816 Pujol Street There were no comments from the public. 1. Minutes of the April 12, 1993 regular meeting were approved as written with one correction to read April 27 in the first paragraph on page 2. 2. No projects were submitted for review. 3. Fagan reported that the City now has a code enforcement officer on board. . 4. Markham raised a question regarding the free standing canopies that have been erected next door to the Swing Inn Cafe and if a permit had been taken out for placing them where they are. It was decided to find out how long they will be there and whether or not they intrude into the right of way. 5. The matter of neon signs came up again and what can be done about them if they are inside the building but in a window where they can be seen from the street. Fagan said they are illegal by ordinance and he would have the code enforcement officer handle the violators. 6. Fagan gave a status report on various projects. He said the new Senior Center is scheduled for opening on July 4th and that funding arrangements for renovation of the Mercantile Building are is still in process. He reported that the matter of temporary signs would be on the agenda for the May 25th City Council meeting and that the Midnight Roundup is in for plan check. Markham reported that the interior demolition has been completed and the suggestion of shared parking has been discussed with Dave Dixon who seemed to like the idea. . Fagan reported on the specific plan for Old Town which will be going before the Planning Commission on July 7th. Harker described the joint meeting attended by the Boards of TTA and OTTMA and the agreement reached to replace the OTTMA with a new organization to administer the Main Street Program. The new organization will made up of TTA and OTTMA members along with other community members. 8. Due to the small attendance it was decided to postpone a walking tour of Old Town and the meeting was adjourned at 10:05 a.m. NEXT MEETING WILL BE AT 9:00 A.M.
