COMMITTEE BUSINESS
1. Old Town Private Paid Parking Lots (LR25-0295) - Presentation by City Staff on the
status of private paid parking lots in Old Town. After the presentation the
subcommittee was concerned about private parking lots charging high amounts for
parking, private parking lot attendants following patrons into stores, and issuing
expensive violation tickets for patrons (particularly attending City functions at
Temecula's Theater). The subcommittee expressed a desire for the Old Town Temecula
Association (OTTA) representatives to engage business owners and property owners
with a survey. The subcommittee was supportive of bringing this item to Old Town
Local Advisory Committee for additional input. The subcommittee also recommended
staff to complete some initial research on how to potentially regulate private paid
parking lots safety, legalities regulating private lot best practices, and other related
matters before taking this item before City Council for further consideration.
