COMMITTEE BUSINESS
1. Consider Approval of VFW Veterans Mixer for July 26, 2025, in the Conference Center— Mr.
Hernandez addressed the Subcommittee on his use of the Conference Center for the VFW
Mixer proposed for July 26, 2025. His update included a date change to August 9, 2025,
confirmation on his permit for the event, and event details. Subcommittee was supportive of
the event and updates.
2. Discussion of Veteran's Car Show 2026 — Mr. Hernandez addressed the Subcommittee
proposing the Veteran's Car Show for November 1, 2025, at the Promenade Mall. Staff will
work with Mr. Hernandez for marketing and outreach on the event. Subcommittee was
supportive of the event.
3. Discussion of Trail Naming — Mr. Hernandez addressed the Subcommittee requesting
permission to rename the Fallen Heroes Memorial and possibly adopting a portion of the Diaz
Trail. Staff provided information on the process of public recognition including facility naming
and the process for the Adopt-A-Park & Trail program. Subcommittee was supportive of
moving forward using the proper process.
