HomeMy WebLinkAbout06172025 Parks, Recreation and Community Services Subcommittee Action Minutes ACTION MINUTES PARKS, RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES SUBCOMMITTEE GREAT OAK CONFERENCE ROOM 41000 MAIN STREET TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA JUNE 17,2025—4:00 PM CALL TO ORDER at 4:00 PM: Council Member Zak Schwank ROLL CALL: Council Member Zak Schwank and Council Member James Stewart PUBLIC COMMENTS -AGENDA ITEMS The following individual(s)addressed the committee: • Jerry Burdick-Rutz(Item#3) COMMITTEE BUSINESS 1. Discussion of Proposed Flagpole Installations/Renovations at Sports Fields at City Parks (at the Request of Mayor Kalfus)—Staff reported on the status of flags and flagpoles at sports fields at city parks and proposed possible locations for new flags and flagpoles including a cost analysis for each installation. Subcommittee recommended staff speak to all sport leagues and report back with their feedback as well as explore possible sponsorship opportunities to leverage costs. 2. Discussion of Portable Restroom Rentals and Services at City Parks and Map Placement (at the Request of MPT Alexander) — Staff shared a map of potential portable restroom placements at city parks and requested direction on the location of the restrooms. Subcommittee recommended placements at Temecula Creek Trail Park, Butterfield Stage Park, Serena Hills Park, and the Murrieta Creek Trail. Staff will bring this recommendation to the full City Council for approval. 3. Consider Approval of Great Oak High School Use of Civic Quad (at the Request of CM Rahn) — Mr. Burdick-Rutz with The Spirit of Great Oak High School Band requested the use of the Civic Quad for the Presentation of Las Cabalgatas d' Espana. Staff provided background information on similar past events. Subcommittee was supportive of the event. 4. Debrief of Rod Run—Staff shared feedback on the 2025 Temecula Rod Run event and requested direction for the 2026 event. Subcommittee recommended increasing the number of Cruise Night registrations to 400 participants.
